What Gain Ministry was originally founded when Psalmist Kwatasian Hunt released her first single titled "What Gain" in July of 2013. Her travels would take her to churches in different cities, states, and West Africa ministering this song; however, this was not just a song, but a ministry that would connect with women all over who had experienced their own What Gain moments.
Over time, Kwatasian would focus on releasing more music to gain traction within the gospel music industry, but a very distinct voice reminded her, "I didn't call you to industry, I called you to ministry." This would ultimately change the trajectory of her focus. Kwatasian's approach to releasing music would be different. No longer rushing to get the next best track, but spending more time in God's presence, and cultivating her relationship with the Lord.
Kwatasian was encouraged by her First Lady Jevonnah Ellison to "do more" with What Gain, and with this encouragement, Kwatasian hosted the Inaugural What Gain: God's Promise of Restoration Women's Conference in April 2019. What Gain was re-launched and had officially become its own entity.
What Gain Ministry will now carry out the mission to promote excellence, and motivate and empower women through their restoration process. The Ministry will host the Annual What Gain Women's Conference, develop partnerships with other ministries, and give back to the community through various charitable events.
